MomCo on the Road: One Road Trip, Countless Connections

What would happen if you packed up a car, mapped out a route, and followed God’s leading to bring MomCo to mums who had never experienced it before?

Australian members Bec and Mandy decided to find out.

What began as a simple burden grew into an extraordinary adventure. Across Australia, many mums searching for connection were discovering there wasn’t a MumCo (what MomCo is called in Australia) group close enough to attend. For Bec and Mandy, that reality became impossible to ignore. Rather than waiting for mums to find MumCo, they decided to bring MumCo to them.

And so, MumCo on the Road was born.

Over eight days, Bec and Mandy traveled more than 1,250 kilometers (780 miles) across three Australian states, hosting events, connecting with church leaders, and creating spaces where mums could gather, be encouraged, and experience the hope found in authentic community.

Along the way, they discovered something powerful: no matter where a mum lives, her need for connection is the same.

From small-town gatherings to larger city events, women showed up eager to share their stories, build friendships, and talk about the joys and challenges of motherhood. Conversations quickly moved beyond surface-level introductions. Mums spoke honestly about hard seasons, lost hopes, marriage struggles, dreams for the future, and the importance of having people who truly understand.

One of the most memorable moments came in Albury, where Bec reconnected with a mum whose life had been transformed through MumCo years earlier. After moving away from her community, she deeply missed the friendships and support she had found through the ministry. Now facing new challenges, she was still holding tightly to her faith and longing to help other mums experience the same kind of connection. Before leaving town, Bec and Mandy equipped her with a “MumCo in a Box” kit — a ready-to-use gathering designed to help introduce MumCo to a new community.

Again and again, they saw how the seeds planted through MumCo continue to grow long after a season ends.

In Canberra, one mum shared how a MOPS theme from years earlier still influences the way she approaches motherhood today. Others reunited with friends they first met through MumCo many years ago and are still doing life with today. The friendships formed during the younger years of motherhood had not faded — they had only grown stronger.

Perhaps that’s what stood out most during the journey.

MumCo isn’t simply a program or an event. It’s a sisterhood.

It’s mums finding their village.

It’s women showing up for one another through every season.

It’s friendships that last for decades.

It’s knowing you’re not alone.

Throughout the trip, Bec and Mandy watched God open unexpected doors. They connected with church leaders, met women whose lives had been shaped by MumCo more than 20 years ago, and witnessed countless moments that reminded them how deeply mums are longing for meaningful connection.

By the end of the week, they had connected with 71 mums and 35 children, partnered with four churches, hosted five events, and planted seeds for future groups and gatherings.

But the numbers tell only part of the story.

The real impact was found in the conversations, the prayers, the hugs, the laughter, and the moments when a mum realized she had found people who understood her journey.

As Bec reflected afterward, one of her greatest joys was helping church leaders see that MomCo isn’t about creating more work — it’s about partnering with them to serve mums and share the hope of Jesus.

For Mandy, the highlight was simply listening.

“Seeing mums open up and share the hard seasons of their lives was such a blessing,” she shared. “Sometimes they didn’t need advice. They just needed someone to listen.”

Their road trip may be over, but the story is still being written.

Across Australia — and around the world — mums are searching for connection, encouragement, and hope. Through the faithfulness of women like Bec and Mandy, more mums are discovering they don’t have to navigate motherhood alone.

And that’s what MomCo has always been about.
