Position: Major Gifts Officer

Reports to: VP of Advancement   

Status: Exempt    

Hours: Full-Time, Travel required

Purpose: Major Gifts Officer will be an experienced practitioner in the ministry of donor development and be able
to elevate the organization to new levels of fundraising success while establishing a donor-focused culture. This person will grasp the spiritual component of fundraising and merge it with technical aptitude to contribute to a thriving donor ministry at The MomCo.

Scope:This position is responsible for personally cultivating new high-capacity supporters, as well as providing
outstanding care to a mid-level and major donor caseload.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

Portfolio and Revenue Growth

  • Own and actively manage a qualified caseload of major and mid-level donors
  • Achieve a minimum of 15% annual revenue growth with personal caseload
  • Personally secure five, six and seven figure commitments through strategic, relationship based solicitation
  • Identify, qualify, and move new prospects into the Champion donor pipeline 
  • Execute disciplined moves management to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors toward increased commitment

Donor Strategy and Engagement

  • Develop and execute individualized engagement plans for each assigned donor
  • Leverage Champion Events, MOMCON, and strategic travel as cultivation and solicitation environments
  • Partner with Advancement leadership to expand and strengthen the major donor acquisition strategy
  • Ensure an exceptional donor experience through prompt, thoughtful, and accurate communication and stewardship

Storytelling and Proposals

  • Translate MomCo’s vision, program strategy, and impact into compelling, investable opportunities
  • Develop customized proposals and funding presentations aligned with donor interests and ministry priorities
  • Confidently articulate the scope, global reach, and Kingdom impact of MomCo
    Systems and Accountability
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all donor interactions in the CRM
  • Utilize data and reporting to inform strategy and measure portfolio performance
  • Contribute insights that strengthen overall advancement strategy and execution

Leadership and Culture

  • Model spiritual maturity and represent MomCo with conviction, credibility, and joy
  • Champion a culture of generosity, gratitude, and excellence across the organization
  • Positively promote MomCo’s mission, leadership, and strategic direction internally and externally
  • Stay informed on philanthropic trends, donor behavior, and emerging engagement strategies

Job Qualifications

  • Follower of Jesus who is able to faithfully sign and uphold the MomCo Faith and Values Statement
  • Minimum five years of successful major gift fundraising experience with documented results
  • Demonstrated experience personally closing five, six and seven figure gifts
  • Proven ability to build and manage a dynamic donor portfolio
  • Strong strategic thinker who takes initiative and drives toward measurable outcomes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proposal development
  • High emotional intelligence with strong relational instincts
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and data driven portfolio management
  • Willingness to travel nationally for donor meetings and key cultivation events
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Benefits and Pay

Annual salary: $70,000 to $80,000
