There’s something about applying watercolor paint to paper that soothes the soul.
Materials
- Watercolor paint
- Watercolor brushes – size 8 round or size 14 flat
- Acrylic paint brush – with short round bristles
- Watercolor paper – (260 or 300 gsm) or thick cardstock (100 lb), sized 5.5” x 8.5”
- Small glass of water
- White acrylic paint
- Knife
directions
- Fold watercolor paper in half and smooth the crease using the blunt side of a knife.
- Dab watercolor brush in water. Using a good amount of the color, brush a few strokes down the card.
- Clean the brush in water and choose another hue of paint. Brush several more strokes, making contact with the first color.
- Repeat step 3.
- Allow paint to dry, about 10-15 minutes.
- Choose a meaningful word like peace, hope, grateful or love. Sketch the word in pencil first if preferred, then paint using acrylic brush and white paint.
- Allow the card to dry, then enclose a message and send along to a friend who could use some beautifully made snail mail.
