INSIGNIFICANT

INSIGNIFICANT

Something that doesn’t always get the credit it deserves is the everyday magic of motherhood. You know those moments — the ones where you’re wiping noses, fixing scraped knees, or patiently listening to another round of “guess what happened at school today?” It might seem like just another day in the life of a mom, but let us tell you, every little thing you do matters more than you know.

Think of motherhood like filling up a piggy bank. Except instead of coins, you’re depositing moments — little bits of love, guidance and care that accumulate over time. Each time you kiss a boo-boo, help with homework, or share a bedtime story, you’re adding to your child’s treasure trove of memories and experiences.

Sure, some days feel like you’re running on autopilot, navigating through a whirlwind of chores, errands and responsibilities. But amidst the chaos, there’s something beautiful happening. Your child is growing, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually too. And guess what? Your relationship with them is growing too.

Remember those quiet moments when you steal a glance at your sleeping child, or those spontaneous giggles shared over a silly game? Those are the priceless gems in your piggy bank of motherhood. They’re the moments that strengthen the bonds between you and your child, building a foundation of trust, love and understanding.

So, whether you’re folding laundry for the umpteenth time, mediating sibling squabbles, or sneaking in a few minutes of prayer amidst the chaos, know that it all adds up. Your dedication, your patience, your unconditional love — they’re shaping not just your child’s world, but yours too.

As they grow, they’ll carry with them the treasures you’ve deposited — the lessons learned, the values instilled, the memories made. And they’ll carry with them the most precious treasure of all: the love and guidance of a mom who has poured her heart into every moment.

So, here’s to you, moms — the everyday heroes, the keepers of piggy banks filled with love and memories. Your motherhood matters more than words can say. Keep depositing those moments, keep nurturing those relationships, and watch as your children’s treasures — and your bond with them — grow richer with each passing day.

You’ve probably already made 84 decisions today, and it may only be 9 a.m. Hello, dearest, welcome to motherhood. Making decisions for ourselves can be hard enough; then we add in making decisions for everyone in our family. And add to that pressure the fact that some of the decisions

The Work of Self-Care
