I am by nature a bit of a scaredy-cat. I used to think that when I grew up things wouldn’t be as scary. When I was six I was afraid of the dark, but my mom wasn’t afraid of the dark, so maybe when I grow up I won’t be afraid anymore. Now as an adult, I realize the fear has continued to follow me. Although it comes out a little differently. My biggest fear now? Rejection. It keeps me from trying things, from asking for things, and from sharing my ideas. This fear took over my life. Then I came across this TEDtalk.
