In the Fall 2014 issue of Hello, Darling we introduced this simple beverage because sometimes hospitality only calls for a glass of lemonade.
There’s no drink quite like lemonade to perfect any gathering. (Especially when you are joined by the ladies from your Brave Collective.) We gussied up lemonade with a lavender-infused simple syrup. Why? Because sometimes even the simplest things can use a little extra fancy. We also made Ginger-Basil and Rosemary-Mint syrups to have fancy options by swapping out the lavender for 1 tablespoon each of the new ingredients. Share your creation and hashtag #hellodarlingmag. <h3>FOR 1 CUP SYRUP, YOU’LL NEED</h3>
<p class="BasicParagraph">1 cup water + 1 cup sugar + 1 tablespoon dried lavender</p>
<ol>
<li>Place ingredients in small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, and then stir occasionally for 2 minutes until sugar is dissolved.</li>
<li>Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Strain lavender buds.</li>
</ol>
<p>Once the syrups have cooled, add a splash to glass of ice cold lemonade and give it a stir. Garnish as desired. <i>Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in an air-tight container.</i></p>
